Engineering-first building automation and HVAC controls for owners and operators who demand expert programming, control sequence design, and system architecture, delivered by experienced professionals, not low-bid installers.
Principal Controls Engineer / Owner
With over 20 years of software engineering and architecture experience, Thomas has held key roles at companies like AppRiver, Crate & Barrel, and OxeFit. His background at Building Energy Sciences gave him deep expertise in building analytics and systems commissioning, allowing him to bring precision engineering and systems thinking to every controls project.
Thomas operates at the intersection of building systems and advanced software architecture. As Lead Architect of the BES+ performance platform, he engineered solutions for multi-vendor data integration and fault detection, ensuring control logic is designed for maintainability and scale. By applying modern software development lifecycles (SDLC) to the world of HVAC, Thomas ensures that SE Climate Systems delivers 'Engineering Certainty' through a structured, scalable process rather than just manual labor.
He holds a degree in Building Construction from the University of West Florida with graduate level work in Software Engineering and Architecture. He is a certified Commissioning Technician, LEED AP, and CDT (Construction Documents Technologist).
Southeast Climate Systems operates as the primary technical authority for building automation projects. The principal provides hands-on programming, control sequence design, and architecture expertise on every engagement. This is not delegated work.
We maintain strict engineering control over the implementation phase, utilizing a vetted network of installers who execute solely to our rigorous technical specifications. Our operations backup team provides extended support capacity, ensuring responsiveness and continuity without compromising the engineering rigor that defines our approach.
